removing rustoleum spray tint/vht nightshade

I used rustoleum spray tint which is basically the same as vht nightshade to tint my sides, head and tail lights...for the first time since I did that I got pulled over for too dark of tails...luckily the cop was a friends father so no ticket and no fix it ticket either...I want to keep the smoked lights but I want to re-do them lighter...does anyone know how to remove the tint from the lense?? Worst case scenario I might look into LED tailights, but would rather just re-do the paint

Try rubbing alcohol and letting it sit for a minute.

If that doesn't work then use paint stripper.

GL!

Also any type of cleaner wax will work as well, along with a little elbow grease. I've been down this road many many times lol

Literally, I used a spray tint for RC cars on my friend's car and today I re-tinted them. I took them off, sprayed the rubbing alcohol on the tails, and watched the paint run off the tail. Then after that, it was simple; just wipe.

Wouldn't brake cleaner ruin the paint?

I know brake fluid will absolutely destroy the paint so hopefully brake cleaner doesn't do the same thing.

That's what I thought too, but if I took the taillight out it wouldn't be a problem...I've thought about though and I think I'm just gonna invest in LEDs and replace the lights...the LEDs gotta be atleast 10x brighter than the oem lights in there so if I do that I think I should be fine...the problem now is finding them

Stock lamp is already LED illuminated.

Be aware harsh chemicals/solvents can also ruin the plastic housing. Your kinda in a predicament.
